Seeds: Collect from cones before opening in autumn, dry and store in cool, dry place, stratify in sand at 5ºC for at least two months, plant in autumn
Main Varieties
Silver Cypress (C. arizonica): Up to 35 m, silver leaves, resistant to cold, drought, and strong winds, grows in dry calcareous soils
Horizontal Evergreen Cypress (C. horizantalis): 20-30 m, wind-resistant, tolerates poor soils and calcareous content, branches horizontal
Vertical Cypress (C. pyramidalis): Evergreen, branches grow upwards, originated as a garden mutation
