A wild, fruit-bearing, long-lived tree that grows naturally without cultivation
Deciduous, shedding leaves in autumn
Height: 2–6 meters depending on soil fertility
Common in mountains, valleys, ravines, slopes, and plateaus
Dense branching, spreading horizontally and vertically
Very hard wood with strong, sharp thorns
Branches carry serrated leaves with large teeth
Flowers: white, fragrant, and visually attractive
Fruits
At maturity: small clusters, yellowish with reddish tint, resembling small local apples
Each fruit contains a large seed with two cotyledons, surrounded by a soft, sweet edible layer
Flowering period: March–April
Fruit ripening: October–November, coinciding with olive harvest
